Yesterday a team of 7 staff from Specsavers spent the day helping at the GSPCA.
The staff were the second group from Specsavers to help this year at the Animal Shelter in St Andrews.
The group arrived at 9am and had a quick induction, group picture and were then quickly set to work around the site.
At the GSPCA we care for between 200 and 300 animals at any time and work 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
Without volunteers we couldn't carry out the vital animal welfare work and on Wednesday we are holding our next volunteer induction evening at 6.30pm.
We are currently looking to find volunteers that can help in all areas and especially help us cover the ambulance work which we have carried out as a 24 hour service for over 40 years.
Today at the GSPCA we were joined by 6 lovely ladies from the Royal Bank of Canada who had given a day to help at the GSPCA.
Not only had the staff from Royal Bank of Canada given a day to help around the Animal Shelter in St Andrews, but they had also given a donation to purchase materials to decorate some of the buildings.
Thursday last week the GSPCA team were joined by 8 volunteers from Northern Trust who gave up a day in the office to help the team at the Animal Shelter in St Andrews with all sorts of jobs.
On Thursday and Friday last week 16 staff from The Travel Corporation gave up a day in the office to help out at the GSPCA.
The team of staff were split into 8 on each day and both groups arrived at 9am where they received a short induction before helping around site with the 300 animals at the Shelter in St Andrews.
A number of the group were versed in helping at the GSPCA after helping last year at the Shelter for a day.
Yesterday a team of 21 staff from Specsavers spent the day helping at the GSPCA.
The staff from Specsavers are the first group of 2015 to help at the Animal Shelter in St Andrews.

As we mentioned last month it is a hat-trick from Richmond Fiduciary Group who have spent a third year helping out at the GSPCA.
Each year since 2012 staff from Richmond Fiduciary Group have given a day from their desk to come up and help clean out, feed, exercise and get involved with all sorts of work at the Animal Shelter in St Andrews.
On Wednesday 22nd November a team of staff from The Travel Corporation gave up a day in a dry warm office to help out at the GSPCA.
The team of 6 staff arrived at 9am where they received a short induction before helping around site with the 300 animals at the Shelter in St Andrews.
Richelle Swart, Amber Holt, Deanna Le Page, Lisa Goman, Wayne Ogier and Stacey Gallienne helped with everything from the domestic animals to the wildlife on site.
