We are overjoyed to announce that Roary the Lion from Guernsey FC will be joining the GSPCA Animal Mascot team in the Giant Animal Mascot 5-a-side football taking place this Sunday from 2pm on the Crown Pier.
With over 100 stalls signed up and final planning underway for the Animal Welfare Seafront Sunday on the 20th May you have just one month to sign up and get involved.
We are hugely grateful to the Plough Inn and Ravenscroft who are putting in teams for the Animal Mascot 5-a-side fun football, but there is still time to get your team together.

With 2 cruise liners visiting with a combined possible 3100 visitors off the Serenissima and Prinsendam it is set to be a busy day on the 20th May.
Today is the first day that work has begun on reflooring and refurbishing 31 of our kennels.
The cost per kennel is around £1,450.00 and we must say a huge thanks to those that have donated so far and we would really appreciate any support or help to further help fund this much needed work that is required due to deteriorating floor.
Every penny is hugely appreciated and to donate online please visit - www.paypal.me/DonateGSPCA
The GSPCA are often looking for additional casual staff members to help with our increasingly busy front desk, the animals, guided tours, cleaning and to continue to develop our charity shop area.
Casual positions help cover the 7 day a week work, especially on weekends and bank holidays when the GSPCA is often extremely busy and very much with cover for holidays or illness.

Every year we hear of firework related incidents involving animals and children. While fireworks may be exciting and pretty to look at and its fun to celebrate many celebrations with a bang, we must put our safety, the safety of our pets and the local wildlife first.
Tomorrow as part of Liberation Day at 2130hrs (930pm) at Castle Breakwater in St peter Port there is a firework display planned so please ensure your animals are safe and prepare for the unusual sounds and sights they might be subjected too.
On the 16th April Herm Island ran a special dog walk in aid of the GSPCA.
Although the weather was a little wet dogs and their owners made their way to the stunning island of Herm to help raise funds for the many animals at the GSPCA.
Treats for all with were enjoyed for the two and four legged visitors and a fantastic £30 was raised on the day with further donations being raised as treats are on sale at the kiosk on Shell Beach in aid of the GSPCA.
Earlier this year Malcom a lovely 5 year old cat went to his forever home.
We are extremely pleased to report that he is doing very well and settled well into his loving new home.
His new owner Jacqueline said “‘From the very first day Malcom arrived he has made himself at home.”
“He has several places at home where he likes to sleep and all are up high.”
“In this last week he has started going outside and is returning home no problem.”
He still can nip but this is mostly when he is playing, no injuries have been caused!”
