For nearly two weeks Trevor and Temperance the Channel Island seal pups have been at the GSPCA.
Both pups are still in intensive care and receiving around the clock treatment and feeds.
Trevor at only 11.5kg from Jersey and Temperance the Guernsey seal pup rescued from Beaucette Marina at only 11kg are in an adjoining enclosure and both are currently cared for at the intensive care seal unit in the GSPCA wildlife building.
Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said “Both pups continue on rehydration fluid feed and are under heat lamps and intensive care at the GSPCA.”
On Wednesday evening just after 1130pm a black cat was caught in a cat trap in a property car park in St Peter Port.
The cat which had been seen many times in the area over a 2 month period appeared thin and extremely nervous and appeared to be living in the car park which raised concerns over whether it had an owner.
The GSPCA after some advice lent a trap to catch the cat and with 24 hours the cat was caught and brought up to the Shelter where the black feline has been named 'Tomsie'.

Taking the course was GSPCA Manager Steve Byrne who has over 20 years working in the field of animal rescue and with over 3000 animals through the doors every year at the GSPCA the team see cases of animal first aid on a daily basis here in Guernsey.
Around Christmas time two of our wardens where called to a cat that had been hit by a car and collapsed but still alive
The little cat was rushed to Isabelle vets where once she had been examined it was found that she had totally de gloved her tail, had a serious fractured pelvis, some internal bleeding and was a very poorly cat indeed.
However this little girl who has been named Catrina was prepared to fight and had her tail amputated that night along with other veterinary care.
