The GSPCA are delighted to announce that planning has been approved for a new Wildlife Hospital at the GSPCA.
This includes demolishing a number of very old buildings one of which dates back to the 1940’s.
We now really need your help. We have raised an amazing £300,000 towards the estimated costs for the facility which are approximately £2,000,000 to build the GSPCA Wildlife Hospital and to remove the old buildings.
There are a number of ways you can help donate to this much needed project –
We are very lucky that most of Guernsey's beaches are dog friendly during the summer months. From the 1st October the beaches where dogs are banned between 1st May and 30th September have the restrictions lifted and these are –
Fermain
Petit Bot
L'Erée
Vazon (Northern end)
Cobo
Port Soif
L'Ancresse
Pembroke
Dogs are not permitted on Lihou Island and Lihou causeway all year round.
Autism Guernsey and the GSPCA are currently organising the Puffin Parade for 2023.

Delivered thanks to Condor Ferries and Ferry speed and we have collected paint donated by Norman Piette they will be handed over to local artists, designers and community groups who will decorate them from next week.
Last night we welcomed three new volunteers to the GSPCA team.
The induction evening took place at 630pm where the inductees met GSPCA Manager Steve Byrne.
Steve said “It was wonderful to meet the three new volunteers last night at our GSPCA Volunteer Induction Evening.”
“Two are due to Saturday and the other on Monday and all three are keen to help in a variety of areas.”
“We also have other volunteers starting this week as we can do inductions remotely, but we first need a volunteer application form to start the process.”
Autism Guernsey and the GSPCA are currently organising the Puffin Parade for 2023.
The 60 fiberglass moulds have now arrived on island and we have had 36 delivered with the remaining arriving on Friday at 2pm.
Once all are delivered thanks to Condor Ferries and Ferry speed and we have collected paint donated by Norman Piette they will be handed over to local artists, designers and community groups who will decorate them.
With nearly all sponsored Autism Guernsey and the GSPCA are looking for the final few sponsors and any artists wanting to decorate them.
At the GSPCA we currently have a bearded dragon called Claude in need of a home.
We are looking for experienced owner ideally who has a home to suit the needs of Claude.
Yvonne Chauvel Senior Animal Care Assistant said “Claude is one of many animals in need of a home.”
“He sadly came into the Shelter through no fault of his own and he is very sweet.”
“The first step in the process in adopting from the GSPCA is to complete an adoption form if you are interested.”
At the GSPCA we currently have a number of tortoise in need of homes.
We are looking for experienced tortoise owners who have a home to suit the needs of each of those looking for their forever home.
Yvonne Chauvel Senior Animal Care Assistant said “From cockerels to a Caribbean hermit crab you’d be surprised the animals in need of homes at the GSPCA.”
“We currently have a number of tortoises that are looking for homes who have come into our care for a variety of reasons.”
“We really would like experienced homes for our shelled friends.”
We are extremely busy at the GSPCA and we are calling any of our amazing volunteers with any time to help, as well as looking for those that would like to join the GSPCA team to help.
From helping with our busy ambulance service to walking dogs, our full cattery to our packed rabbit and small animal department, nearly 100 hedgehogs to ferrets, gardening to helping on reception.
All trained volunteers need to do is pop in and the team will have plenty for you to do and a huge thanks in advance.
On Thursday 29th September 2022 there is a Quiz Night starting from 6.30pm at Saumarez Park Café with a raffle in aid of the GSPCA.
