From all of the GSPCA a huge thanks to the fantastic Livingroom team

Last week Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager Steve Byrne not only met and showed some of the Livingroom team around the GSPCA to show them the many animals and work that goes on but received an amazing donation of £3,149 from them.

The Livingroom team last week said “The team at the GSPCA do an amazing job looking after the island’s lost, stray and sometimes forgotten animals.”

GSPCA Pub Quiz at the Cock and Bull Wednesday 25th March 2020

On Wednesday 25th March GSPCA team members are holding a Pub Quiz at the Cock & Bull to raise funds for the many animals in our care and 24/7 work at the GSPCA.

Organisors Beckie Bailey and Nicolle Morgan are asking you 'are you an animal whizz?' and if so 'come and test your knowledge.

£30 per table

Maximum of 6 people to a table/team

100% proceeds to the GSPCA

Sit down is at 730pm as quiz starts at 8pm

Prizes, raffle and laughter = puuuuuurrrrrfect night!

GSPCA Release Oiled Guillemots Back to the Wild

You may remember before Christmas the GSPCA were helping and rescuing oiled birds from around Guernsey and three featured on ITV Channel News.

The great news is last week on the 9th January they were released back to the wild.

Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said “We have named the three oiled guillemots Gallileo who were from Ladies Bay, Guillbert from Le Picquerelle and Guilly was rescued from Petit Bot.”

“Yvonne and Beckie took the three birds last week up to the slip way near Rousse Tower along with Channel ITV to film their release.”

Sidney's presents Niqi Brown as Tina Turner in aid of the GSPCA Saturday 21st March

After an amazing Christmas and New Year events Sidney’s Sponsored Events are starting the new decade with another amazing show stopper.

On Saturday, 21 March 2020 from 19:30-22:30 at the Duke of Richmond Hotel from the UK Nigi Brown as Tina Turner will be entertaining the crowds.

Book your tickets now for this fantastic night of entertainment where you can dance, sing and have fun.

The dress code is smart casual or dress the part and with your ticket you can enjoy a two course meal and raffle. Tables of up to 12 and smaller parties always welcome.

Huge thanks to all involved with the Livingroom Charity Dog Walk

On the 15th December with the wonderful support of the Bella Luce Hotel and in aid of one of their chosen charities - the GSPCA – Livingroom were thrilled to hold their Livingroom Christmas Dog Walk!

On a sunny Sunday the crowds and their dogs met in the courtyard of the Bella Luce Hotel before taking their four legged friends for a festive walk around the beautiful lanes of St. Martins.

The walk was extremely well attended with around 0 participants and after a lovely walk was followed by hot chocolates and mulled wine with donations made to the GSPCA.

Huge thanks to the staff from Ogiers for helping out at the GSPCA

On the 25th September 2 staff from Ogiers gave a day up from the office to help out at the GSPCA.

Ogiers very kindly give their team time to volunteer at a charity and last year Shelley and Izzy spent a day helping at the many departments cleaning and caring for the animals at the GSPCA.

Tim Pellett GSPCA Training and Community Officer greeted the ladies when they arrived said “Shelley and Izzy from Ogiers were a great help last September when they gave up their time from the office to help us at the GSPCA.”

20 New Volunteers kick off the GSPCA first 2020 Volunteer Induction

Last night over 20 new faces came along to the first Volunteer Induction of the new decade.

The volunteers of all ages arrived just before 630am where GSPCA Manager Steve Byrne greeted them and gave the induction where they learned all about our work, how they can help, procedures, health, safety and much more.

At the end of the induction each received an induction booklet, certificate, pen and got the chance to speak to Steve about how they would like to help.

New Year New Goals – Volunteering for the GSPCA in 2020 first Induction Wednesday 15th January 2020 630pm

Throughout 2020 we have Volunteer Inductions planned for those interested in helping with our wide and diverse work.

The first of these takes place on Wednesday 15th January 2020 at 6.30pm and all are welcome.

Buy a Brick for the Wildlife Hospital this Christmas like Eldad After School Club

Recently the GSPCA were asked to visit Eldad Church to chat to the Eldad After School Club.

Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager popped down to them to talk about the work of the GSPCA with a real focus on the much needed Wildlife Hospital.

The children and those involved with Eldad After School Club had raised funds to buy two bricks for the Wildlife Hospital and we presented the children with a certifcate which you get with buying a brick along with gifts.
