Le Friquet Proudly Support GSPCA in 2017

Le Friquet Home of Garden & Living have announced that they will be donating 1% of their pet department sales to support their chosen charity, the GSPCA throughout 2017, and are asking customers for their help to back this initiative.

The Castel based garden centre, who are supporting the charity for the 2nd year running, are putting a number of initiatives into action this year in order to help raise awareness of the GSPCA’s excellent work, as well as raise much needed funds to ensure the health and well-being of the animals they look after.

Invite to all GSPCA volunteers, staff, placements and helpers.

As a way of a thank you to all of our amazing volunteers and staff we are holding a party on Saturday the 10th June from 7pm at the Animal Shelter.

As its Summer please sport your best summer out fit and sun glasses for a fun evening as a way of thanks for all of the hard work carried out 24/7 from the Animal Welfare Seafront Sunday to the around the clock animal care, the conservation work to those that are helping lay the floor in the charity shop.

Could you donate to Bailey a very sweet Shih Tzu's operation and care at the GSPCA

Bailey a 3 year old Shih Tzu is an extremely sweet and wonderful natured lady which all of the staff and volunteers have fallen in love with at the GSPCA.

Since arriving at the GSPCA, as sadly her owner could no longer care for her, it was quickly established that she was in need of an operation and a number of treatments.

Last week Bailey went along to the vets to be sedated for an operation after having blood in her urine and difficulty urinating. The vets performed an operation which resulted in removing 4 very large bladder stones.

Arts Seafront Sunday - we have a GSPCA stall this weekend to help animals in Guernsey - can you help?

This Sunday pop into St Peter Port to support the Arts Seafront Sunday and visit our stall raising funds for animals in Guernsey.

After an amazing Animal Welfare Seafront Sunday last week we are back on the Crown Pier this weekend.

From 10am until 4pm the sea front will be packed with stalls and things to do with an arts theme.

We are extremely thankful to Arts Sunday for allowing us to join them this weekend.

If you can help out on our stall we will be setting up from 7am and will be there until just after 4.30pm.

A huge thanks to all involved with the Animal Welfare Seafront Sunday

On Sunday the GSPCA held our 6th Animal Welfare Seafront Sunday.

Once again we had a wonderful and an amazing day and there are so many thanks to give out. May we say a HUGE thanks to all involved with a truly amazing day celebrating animals in Guernsey.

With a dry start the stall holders and many volunteers started setting up from 7am and the Seafront was alive with activity. As the event started at 10am the road was full of stalls, charities, supporters, visitors and their many pets mostly dogs although a few others in the crowds.

VACANCIES - Part Time Cleaner & Casual Animal Care/Reception/Charity Shop Assistant

The GSPCA are currently looking for additional staff members to help with our increasingly busy front desk, the animals, cleaning and develop our charity shop area

The closing date for these posts is Tuesday 6th June 2017.

The roles are to help cover 7 days a week and especially on weekends and bank holidays when the GSPCA is often extremely busy.

We have a team of 20 staff and over 700 volunteers and without the whole team we couldn't help the 3000+ animals that come through the doors every year, care for the many boarders and achieve so much.

JKT is looking for the best dogs in our Fun Dog Show at our Animal Welfare Seafront Sunday this weekend

This Sunday one of Guernsey's best known voices will be joining the GSPCA at our Animal Welfare Seafront Sunday to help judge our fun dog show from 12.30pm.

JKT as many of us fondly know her by has supported animal stories in many ways and a fantastic advocate for promoting kindness to animals across the Bailliwick.

With all of the plans coming together for the GSPCA Animal Welfare Seafront Sunday we are pleased to announce that Island FM will be joining us with Daniel the Donkey and the Cherry Godfrey Cash Shower.

The GSPCA would also like to say a huge thank you to D W Arundell for all of their support in advertising and supporting our BIGGEST event of the year celebrating animals in Guernsey.

With a huge variety of stalls and things to do and see we are extremely excited to see everyone this Sunday along the sea front in St Peter Port.

9 new volunteers join the GSPCA for the 6th volunteer induction of 2017 - next induction 14th June 630pm

On Tuesday we held our sixth volunteer induction of 2017 at the GSPCA and saw a wonderful 9 new helpers keen to learn how they can get involved with us here at the Animal Shelter adding to the 89 inducted this year taking this years inducted volunteers to a total of 98 not including others that have helped from businesses, groups and other organisations.

This Sunday Free Prizes for all children in fancy dress & Chalk Drawing with Island Mums at the Animal Welfare Seafront Sunday

It's only days away until the GSPCA Animal Welfare Seafront Sunday and the team and those supporting are busy getting ready for the BIG day.

We are over joyed to announce once again that Island Mums are supporting our day with a wonderful stall with lots to do for the children.

Not only will they be running the very popular chalk drawing there is a fun childrens fancy dress competition.
