Today the GSPCA team have been very busy preparing and clearing areas for work to be carried out tomorrow.
We are hugely grateful to GFF Flooring who are donating and fitting flooring to our Hospital area and thanks to a grant from the Co-op Helping Hands they are also fitting a new floor in the ferret room both of which are desperately needed due to the aged floors they currently have.
With the lovely weather many of the animals have gone into outside cages and aviaries and others have gone into other sections of the GSPCA.
This Sunday the 12th June the GSPCA and St Andrews Floral Group join in with Blanchelande PTFA Summer Fete and St. Andrew’s Parish Celebration of Her Majesty's 90th birthday.
There’s free fun and family entertainment including tennis, pets corner, children’s sports, teas, a barbecue, bar and live music from Elliot Falla.
Thomas the train ride, Pirates ship, BBQ (Gsy farm made Beef burgers), food and drink, Rocquettes cider, various stalls including a cake stall, raffle, animals and a disabled toilet.
All starting at 12 noon until 5pm at Blanchelande College.
Yesterday on the 6th June the GSPCA took a stall down to join the many others celebrating the Arts Seafront Sunday.
With fantastic weather and thousands supporting the event at the GSPCA we would like to thank the organisors, the volunteers and all involved.
We raised a fantastic £700 and had a huge amount of fun meeting the many visitors.
Last week during the half term we held tours around the GSPCA to see the hundreds of animals in our care.
Every Spring we help hundreds of baby birds, hedgehogs and many more wild animals and birds.
The guided tours took groups of over 20 each day behind the scenes and due to the numbers of animals many of the tours took over 2 hours.
We asked for a minimum donation of £5 per person and £3 per child, or £15 for a family of four and many gave additional donations and bought items in the shop and charity shop on site.
On Thursday the GSPCA joined Guernsey College who were raising funds for 3 charities at Delancey Park.
Guernsey College Health & Social Care, Sport and Childcare students and staff arranged an event at Delancey Park which despite a grey start proved extremely popular with well over 1000 visitors.
The event made the most of the half term and there was fun for all the family. From stalls, games, a raffle, food, inflatables, face painting and plenty more to do and see.

On Friday an amazing evening was had by 100's of islanders that sailed over to Herm for the evening for a fund raiser that was being organised thanks to those on Herm, the Mermaid Tavern and the wonderful Fade 2 Grey.
This Sunday pop into St Peter Port to support the Arts Seafront Sunday and visit our stall raising funds for animals in Guernsey.
From 10am until 4pm the sea front will be packed with stalls and things to do with an arts theme.
We are extremely thankful to Arts Sunday for allowing us to join them this weekend.
If you can help out on our stall we will be setting up from 8am and will be there until just after 4.30pm.
