Last Monday the GSPCA were kept very busy all day despite the heavy down pours during Liberation Day.
Stall were set up and manned both at the Last Post and along the seafront in St Peter Port and both were kept busy through the day with the many enjoying the celebrations.
Thank you to Steve Byrne, Jo Fox, Joseph Fox, Ellie Fox, Helen Holmes, Yvonne Chauvel and Helen Sharman all of which gave part or all of their day to help raise funds for animals in Guernsey.
This afternoon representatives from the GSPCA, St Andrews Floral Group, RSPB Guernsey, Guernsey Trees for Life and the Little Tree Project who are all part of the 'Going Wild at the GSPCA Project' welcomed the judges from the Insurance Corporation Conservation Awards.
The judging marks the anniversary from when St Andrews Floral Group started supporting the GSPCA in helping develop the grounds around our wonderful site in the heart of Guernsey.
The work undertaken has included everything from planting natural willow hedges to improving the bio-diversity on site.
On Sunday we held the fifth Animal Welfare Seafront Sunday which as always had a wonderful fun dog show as part of the day.
Staff and volunteers from the GSPCA Jen Bradshaw, Sheryl Carre, Lorna Prince and Sarah Creasey headed up running and organising the show with help from others and also judging from Katie Ozard who is also a volunteer at the GSPCA and runs Active Dog.
Each of the 11 classes were packed with wonderful much loved dogs.
The results were as follows -
On Sunday the GSPCA took over St Peter Port Seafront for the the fifth year in a row.
Normally the GSPCA Animal Welfare Seafront Sunday takes place in September but this year we held the fun family and pet event in May.
Thousands filled the Seafront which was alive with a family buzz as all ages enjoyed the stalls and entertainment.
This Sunday the Seafront will be a buzz with things to do and see for all the family.

This Sunday Giant Animal Mascot 5-a-side football event at 2pm, would like to join in?
Once again we will be holding a Giant Animal Mascot event but this year there are a big twist.
This is open to mascots and individuals prepared to dress as an animal and play a fun football game with a rather over sized ball.
We are asking businesses, pubs, individuals or anyone as a team of 5 or an individual and we can make extra teams on the day.
This Sunday once again we bring you a childrens fancy dress competition to help celebrate animals in Guernsey.
The Animal Welfare Seafront Sunday starts officially at 10am with set up from 8am and at 1.45pm Island Mums will be helping run a fun childrens fancy dress competition near the Crown Pier.
Islands Mums will also be helping with a number of activities at a kids corner including chalk drawing and more, not to mention the many other games and things to do on the day.
So please do come down and support the day and spread the word to family and friends.
This Sunday if you can help volunteer or have a vehicle you could help us transport goods we would love to hear from you.
We are planning to pack a number of vans in preparation this Friday ready to drive down for our Animal Welfare Seafront Sunday at 7.30am.
If you could lend a van, especially a luton or large transit we would really appreciate it.
Every year it is a huge logistical challenge to transport the many tents, goods and animals from the GSPCA into St Peter Port.
