At the GSPCA we currently have 3 cats in need of support.
You may have heard the story of Popeye the cat. Sadly Popeye has a very poorly eye that requires additional investigations and an operation. He came in with a cat called Grayson after their owner sadly passed away. We would love to rehome them together, but before we can we need to get Popeye fit and well.
During the last week of August at the GSPCA we will be running a series of open days and guided tours.
These kick off from the Bank Holiday Monday the 25th August.
During the week between 9am and 5pm we will have bric-a-brac to new goods on sale, also refreshments including hot drinks.
When you arrive you will also be able to see some of the animals looking for good homes in our aviary and on Bunny Hop Hill.
At the GSPCA in Guernsey we help rescue, rehome, reunite and rehabilitate more cats than any other species of domestic animals.
Today on World Cat Day we are appealing for donations for a very poorly cat.
Popeye is a one eyed feline that needs a great deal of treatment on his right eye before he can find that forever home.
Popeye is a young male cat that has come into the GSPCA with another cat called Greyson as sadly his owner passed away.
Last night at the Market Bistro the GSPCA held its first Bingo Night.
The Pie & Mash Bingo Bash as it was called took place within the inner market building where the Market Bistro and their team catered, fed an watered the budding bingo players.
With over 60 in attendance the money raised was in aid of the GSPCA and helping animals in Guernsey.
For just £14.50 for adults and £10.50 for children the price included 8 games of bingo and at the interval a buffet style pie and mash.
Today the GSPCA released Muriel the kestrel back to where she was found.
Muriel was rescued after being found in the middle of the road at L'Ancresse common unable to fly just over two weeks ago.
She was very thin and weak on entry and she spent the start of her stay in an intensive care unit.
She quickly gained weight and strength and for the last week has been in one of the Shelters soft release aviaries.
Today the GSPCA were called to rescue a stray cat that was trapped behind a shed.
It is unclear how long the cat had been stuck, but she is now safe at the GSPCA.
Annie Janes Animal Care Assistant and Collection Officer attended the address in New Place, Vauvert earlier today after the call was received at the Animal Shelter.
The tabby semi long haired cat on arrival seemed in some distress and our collection officer was unable to reach the cat.
With only 2 days to go until the GSPCA Bingo night at the Market Bistro, do you have your seat booked?
