Last night we held our 13th volunteer induction of 2016 and welcomed 8 new team members wanting to help the work at the GSPCA.
It all took place at the Shelter just after 6.30pm where Jade, Kylie, Kristina, Pippa, Tina, Katherine, Martin and Dylan were welcomed by GSPCA Manager Steve Byrne and learnt about the work of the Animal Shelter, the areas they can help and how to work safely.
After the 90 minute talk each received a certificate and got the chance to speak to Steve Byrne and a date was set for each to get involved.

Today many of the staff have been heart broken as Jackie La Marchant put down her broom for the final time at the GSPCA.
Having helped 2 days a week for over 15 years and at the age of 82 years she said a sad farewell to team.
Jackie has been a massive help in the Hospital Department caring for the many sick and injured animals at the Shelter and Yvonne Chauvel Senior Animal Care Assistant will especially miss Jackie as she has been a real star in her department.
