All around Guernsey each year businesses and offices have had their 4 legged friends come to work and this ear Bring Your Dog To Work Day takes places today, Friday 24th June.
Having a dog in the room can make human colleagues more cooperative, reduce stress, increase job satisfaction and productivity.
When adopting a dog or any animal from the GSPCA we often ask how many hours potential owners may be at work. Perhaps the question should actually be - are you able to take your dog to work?
This Sunday see the GSPCA and support our stall once again at the GCVC Classic Vehicle Show 2022 at Saumarez Park in Castel.
The GCVC we are incredibly proud to announce that they are now carbon balancing out all miles driven as part of our Annual Show.
As members of the Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs (FBHVC) they are excited to take part in their newly launched Carbon Capturing Scheme.
Free entry and parking at Home Farm at £5 per vehicle.
This Wednesday 25th and Thursday 26th August it is the North Show and the GSPCA will be there with a stall for the ninth year in a row.

Last week the GSPCA attended what was a fantastic and record breaking West Show.
For the last 10 years the GSPCA hasn’t missed a show at L’Eree and this year we raised the most we have ever achieved.
The stall which was run by GSPCA team members Steve Byrne, Lorna Chadwick Suzy Rose, Jo Byrne and Joseph Fox over the two days managed to raise an incredible £2,300.
Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said “Last week the GSPCA had an extremely busy 2 days at the West Show.”
On Sunday the GSPCA were at the Classic Car Show thanks to Tim, James and Beckie and we want to thank those that organised and all that supported our stall.
Tim Pellet GSPCA Training and Community Officer said “We had a great day at the Classic Car Show on Sunday and raised an amazing £530.”
“Beckie and James helped me with the stall and we saw so many wonderful supporters and lots of dogs as well.”
“We even saw some of the dogs that have been adopted from the GSPCA.”
On Friday 6th August pop to Café St James from 7pm and support local artist Dan Ashplant with his album launch 'No Nonsense'.

The 18th Torteval Scarecrow Festival will be held this weekend on Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th August 2021.
At the Torteval Parish Church you can walk the Scarecrow Trail (1½ hours approx) through some of Torteval’s delightful lanes.
Refreshments available throughout both days with licensed bar, entertainment and fete with various stalls.
This is the sixth year the GSPCA are taking part in this wonderful community event and we are hugely grateful to the McIntyre family for the kind use of their front garden.
More than 40 local charities with a variety of stands - all on the front lawn of Government House.
Various activities and entertainment through the afternoon - plus food and refreshments.
Entry is free (car park is min. £2 donation to Guernsey Scouts).

As part of this year’s Floral Guernsey charity events, Samarkand, Castel, was opened for the first time in aid of the GSPCA and Young Lives vs Cancer.
310 visitors visited the garden for one day only in June, which was the sunniest and hottest day of the year so far. Visitors also enjoyed tea, coffee, delicious homemade cakes, a Bloomin’ Bellini bar, and there was a fantastic raffle too.
