Maximillian the lizard from Madeira ready for a new home

Maximillian says ‘I’m Maximillian, a Madeiran wall lizard. You may have seen me in the Guernsey Press, from when I hitched a lift in a suitcase from Madeira all the way to Guernsey. It’s now time for me to find a forever home.

Since I landed in Guernsey I have been fully vet checked, wormed and all is in good health. I’m looking for a home where I can be a display lizard. I’m quite shy and enjoy my home comfort. I would prefer my new owner to have experience in the reptile world.

Vandals in St Martin break Dolphin Discovery Dolphin Echo made decorated by the school before the event goes live

This morning the GSPCA were contacted in regards Echo the Dolphin Discovery Dolphin decorated by St Martins Primary School and sponsored by a raffle run by Guernsey freemasons.

Sadly Echo had been vandalised by being completely snapped in two.

GSPCA Stall on North Beach this Liberation Day

The GSPCA are delighted to announce that this Liberation Day we will have a stall in the charity section of North Beach car park in St Peter Port this Friday 9th May.

Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said “We have parked our GSPCA van all ready at North Beach Car Park in preparation for tomorrows stall for Liberation Day.”

Hedgehog Awareness Week - Can you help Guernseys Hedgehogs, our BIG BUILD and support our work at the GSPCA 4th to the 10th May

Hedgehog Awareness Week runs from 4th – 10th May this year and it aims to raise the profile of the Britain’s only spiny mammal and one of the few mammals here in Guernsey.

This year the GSPCA is asking people to create their very own hedgehog haven and support our work with wildlife!

Volunteers needed for the 13th GSPCA Animal Welfare Seafront Sunday 18th May 2025 and cuddly toy appeal

With just over 2 weeks to go to the BIGGEST day in the GSPCA calendar we are calling on volunteers that can help with our BIG day.

With over 100 stalls and much to see and do the GSPCA is buzzing with activity for the 13th Animal Welfare Seafront Sunday taking place during our 152nd year on the 18th May.

Dolphins start to go out….... the app will go live when all are out. Could you sponsor £1000 for the treasure hunt app?

With all of the Dolphin Discovery Trail 2025 dolphins back from the artists at the GSPCA, the locations all lined up and thanks to Ravenscroft Construction the plinths all made the final items are coming together to get them all out on their trail.

The first was put in delivery were put out today with the treasure hunt and website going live in full when all are out in place.

Stall spaces and buskers needed for the 2025 GSPCA Animal Welfare Seafront Sunday on the 18th May

With just over two weeks to go the GSPCA are preparing for our BIGGEST event of the year our Animal Welfare Seafront Sunday, a day to celebrate animals in Guernsey.

In recent years we have seen just over 100 stalls at our biggest event of the year and if you want to join us please do get in touch.

Plinths all built thanks to Ravenscroft Construction and final prep before the dolphins go out on their trail
