On Monday night a very upset member of public arrived with what was believed to be a dead cat that had been found and kindly placed into a box wrapped in a blanket.
The member of public arrived out of hours and was greeted by GSPCA Manager Steve Byrne who was on night duty.
The kind individual was asked to take a seat and for details while the GSPCA Manager checked in the receiving room what was thought to be a dead cat for any identification or microchip.
Yesterday the GSPCA welcomed another wonderful group of volunteers from the fantastic team at Northern Trust.
The GSPCA once again joined in what was a lovely Taste of Guernsey Seafront Sunday on the weekend.
Our stall at the Taste Seafront Sunday was just outside Marks and Spencer with all of our fun games and tombolas which helped raise £614.49p for the animals in our care.
Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said "We had a lovely day at the Taste of Guernsey Seafront Sunday and it was amazing to meet and chat to many of the lovely visitors off the two cruise liners that were in the Little Russell."

You may have recently read in the Guernsey Press recently that our amazing Volunteer Wardens and also amazing Geoff George Animal Collection Officer are both entered in the Pride of Guernsey 'Emergency Hero Award'. Today while many have been talking about #Brexit the GSPCA have had a busy morning preparing and releasing Bonnie the seal pup back to the wild.
Bonnie who was the thinnest seal pup the GSPCA had ever rescued has taken from January until today to build her weight, health and strength to be set free into the wild.
It's Friday 24th June so please post your pictures of your dog in work today so we can see the lucky pooches who will be in vans, offices and schools with their owners.
When posting online to share please tag @GSPCA and why not hastag #BringYourDogToWorkDay to join others with this global day.
Having a dog in the room can make human colleagues more cooperative, reduce stress, increase job satisfaction and productivity.
On Thursday a group of 4 islanders with 3 visiting family members from Australia had a special guided tour of the GSPCA.
The group were shown behind the scenes and learnt from Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager about the rich history of the GSPCA and future plans.
From seeing baby birds being feed to young hedgehogs, holding tortoise to seeing Bonnie the seal pup and of course the highlight Olivia the turtle.
Over the last two days the GSPCA welcomed Rick Hayman who is the Managing Director of Medimark Scientific Ltd who manufacture a number of products that are used world wide to clean in a variety of environments, especially vets and animal shelters.
Rick is a massive supporter of animal charities and has even volunteered on a Mission Rabies project which is a charity that vaccinates dogs in Africa and other parts of the developing world to help stop this deadly disease.
