Every day the GSPCA help lost and stray animals and almost daily farm animals.
Some of these are due to dogs being walked worrying the herd or individual animals which can result in them being hurt or escaping.
With the larger farm animals we are called out to help everything from escaped horses to sheep in the road, cows in gardens to pigs out and about and many more.
On Thursday the GSPCA were called out once again to a poorly grey seal pup.

Geoff George Head of Marine Mammals said “On Thursday Kevin Beausire and I were called out to a sick seal pup at Chouet headland.”
“He is only just over 20kgs so half of the weight he should be for his age.”
“He has been called Dark Horse and has joined Swish and Fireworks.”
The GSPCA are very excited to announce that once again the Pets Foundation launched the Easter Pets Foundation Appeal 2025 which supports our work as well as many other animal charities across the UK.
Both this and last week the GSPCA have been called out to rescue grey seal pups.
Sadly the pup from last weekend was extremely poorly and suffering from seizures and sadly passed away shortly after trying to help it.
This Sunday the GSPCA were called to the third Guernsey seal pup rescue of 2025 near the shooting range.
Every year as the weather warms and Easter arrives some parents think of rabbits as an a pet for their child.
The GSPCA this Easter want to send the message that a rabbit isn't just for Easter!!!
We have seen incredible numbers of rabbits needing help in recent years with more rabbits needing new homes than dogs or cats.
Many rabbits are bought on impulse and are housed in small hutches at the end of the garden with no exercise and the child often forgets the poor pet that is left for the parents to care for.
In March 2020 the world changed to a place no-one envisaged.
On the 10th March 2020 the GSPCA moved early when we ceased all non essential services such as events, training courses and anything that could involve bringing people together to lower any risk of the spread of covid-19.
This of course caused huge issues in raising funds to rehoming animals and presented many challenges, but we had to carry out our essential 24/7 services and care for the many animals at the GSPCA.
